Harnessing the body’s capacity for change
A body-based approach for releasing tension, increasing awareness and changing habitual stress patterns.

What is the Grinberg Method?
The Grinberg Method is a practical, body-based approach that uses touch, breathing, movement and guided attention to help you become more aware of patterns held in the body. These might show up as chronic tension, restricted breathing, pain, fatigue or automatic physical reactions to stress.
Rather than simply trying to relax you, the aim is to teach you to notice what your body is doing and learn how to respond differently. By bringing attention to sensations, breathing and muscular patterns in real time, we work with your body’s ability to stop unnecessary effort, release tension and create new possibilities for how you feel and function.
What happens in a session?
The first session includes a foot analysis and case history to understand what you would like to work on and identify patterns that may be relevant. From there, I use a combination of hands-on techniques, breathing, movement and verbal guidance, working through the feet as well as directly with other areas of the body.
You remain actively involved throughout. I may ask you to notice or describe sensations, breathe in a particular way, move, or deliberately tense and release muscles. The work can range from gentle to more intense depending on what we are exploring. During or after a session, you may notice changes in breathing, physical sensations, emotions, energy or areas of tension you hadn’t previously recognised.
How I became interested in the Grinberg Method
In my own healing journey, I explored a range of approaches including counselling, CBT, psychotherapy and EMDR to understand the role that stress might be playing in my health. While some were helpful intellectually, none resolved any symptoms.
I discovered the Grinberg Method while volunteering on the farm of the method founders, and the experience felt very different from anything I had tried before. Rather than analysing my experiences, the work helped me notice what was happening physically in my body in real time. Within a few sessions, I began recognising how much tension I was holding. As I learned to release some of these patterns, longstanding digestive symptoms started to improve.
